LuangPhor Niam of Wat Noi & Luang Phor Parn of Wat Bang Nom Kor was the master of Luang Phor Boiy Wat Manao

This piece shown here is the Phim Chong Nok which is considered as one of the most popular mould among amulets. Has a sharp beautiful feature and a very original texture

LuangPhor Boiy was born in Tubtilek sub-district, Bangplama, Supunburi, a local of the province where the legend of Phrakhun Paen amulets originated.

He was ordained a monk when he was aged 21 years at Wat Manao of the same province. Three years later he moved to Wat Chipakhao (official name is Wat Srisudaram) learn ancient Khmer and Dharma. After which he moved to Wat Amrinkositaram for a period of nine years to study high-level meditation and sacred sciences before returning to Wat Manao in B.E 2467.

Although he learnt many sacred sciences he always resisted the temptation to create amulets believing that in doing so wouldobstruct his path to enlightenment.

The number of gansgsters in the province and the threat of violence and danger to the average person caused him to think again as he realized that there was a great need for some form of protection and in B.E 2473 he created his first set of amulets.

LuangPhor Boiy i never created any amulet for sale, but only to give to those that needed them, and one of the biggest differences between today’s amulets and those created by monks of a former generation.

He used many types of materials to create amulets but mostly from those that he simply found such as old water bowls, kitchen ware, and clay.

LuangPhor Boiy never planned in advance to create amulets, he would simply make them whenever he found that people needed them.

It is known he continued to create amulets until he passed away on January 18, B.E.2508, aged 73 years.

Because of his fame, sacred power, and high respect LuangPhor Boiy i was offered the position of Abbot at many temples, always refusing, preferring to live the life of a humble monk in a simple dwelling at Wat Manao. He was never interested in luxury or position, always giving any donations to others and even the very food he was given was often donated to the poor.

But now LuangPhor Boiy amulets at the Thai market have a very high value.

B.E. 2529
LuangPhor Koon, Wat Ban Rai

It all happened around B.E. 2529 when LuangPhor Koon decided to leave for Wat Ban Rai from Wat Sra Kaew. At that time, Wat Ban Rai was still in a poor state.
There was once when LuangPhor Koon was contemplating after his daily meal.
He suddenly had the thought of creating a batch of amulets to fund for rebuilding his run-down temple.

He thus quickly gathered some village’s elders and committee for the discussion. When asked by some followers what amulets does he has more confident in creating, LuangPhor Koon replied “Takrud”.

It was then agreed upon that a certain Buddhist amulets shall be create whereby Takrud to be inserted into it. That was when LuangPhor Koon instructed Khun Roon Chamras, an elder from the villager to create Phra Pitta and had hand-written “Takrud” insert into them.

When news started to spread that LuangPhor Koon will be creating this batch of amulets, many followers start coming forward to donate gold, silver and copper sheets for him to make takrud.

LuangPhor Koon then wrote Gatha Hua Jai (Heart Spell) of Ratnatraya Scripture or “Mak~Ak~Ut” blessed and insert each pieces of the powdered Phra Pitta with the takrud.

The materials of the said powdered Phra Pitta were a great mixtures with many sacred powders from broken pieces of old amulets eg;

~ Phra Somdej Wat Rakang
~ Phra Somdej Wat Bang Khun Phrom
~ Phra Rod Wat Mahawan
~ Alloy from Phra Kring Wat Suthat
~ Phra Khun Phaen Wat Bang Krang
~ Many others popular amulets & votives
~ 108 kinds of herbs and plant bulbs
~ Soil from holy sites througout Thailand

After the completion on the making of this batch, Luangpor Khoon blessed them  wholeheartedly and making wish with good intent for those who came forward to help on the rebuilding of Wat Ban Rai.

The amulets were released to the public on 29 Sept B.E. 2529.

The total numbers created were as follow:
~ Phim Jumbo with gold or silver takrud = 56 pieces
~ Phim Jumbo with twin silver & copper takruds = 9 pieces
~ Phim Jumbo with 3 takrud (gold, silver, copper) = 9 pieces
~ Phra Phim Pisek “special” with gold/silver/copper takrud, hair and sii prueng (comittee prints) = 9 pieces
