LuangPhor Koon, Wat Ban Rai
It all happened around B.E. 2529 when LuangPhor Koon decided to leave for Wat Ban Rai from Wat Sra Kaew. At that time, Wat Ban Rai was still in a poor state.
There was once when LuangPhor Koon was contemplating after his daily meal.
He suddenly had the thought of creating a batch of amulets to fund for rebuilding his run-down temple.
He thus quickly gathered some village’s elders and committee for the discussion. When asked by some followers what amulets does he has more confident in creating, LuangPhor Koon replied “Takrud”.
It was then agreed upon that a certain Buddhist amulets shall be create whereby Takrud to be inserted into it. That was when LuangPhor Koon instructed Khun Roon Chamras, an elder from the villager to create Phra Pitta and had hand-written “Takrud” insert into them.
When news started to spread that LuangPhor Koon will be creating this batch of amulets, many followers start coming forward to donate gold, silver and copper sheets for him to make takrud.
LuangPhor Koon then wrote Gatha Hua Jai (Heart Spell) of Ratnatraya Scripture or “Mak~Ak~Ut” blessed and insert each pieces of the powdered Phra Pitta with the takrud.
The materials of the said powdered Phra Pitta were a great mixtures with many sacred powders from broken pieces of old amulets eg;
~ Phra Somdej Wat Rakang
~ Phra Somdej Wat Bang Khun Phrom
~ Phra Rod Wat Mahawan
~ Alloy from Phra Kring Wat Suthat
~ Phra Khun Phaen Wat Bang Krang
~ Many others popular amulets & votives
~ 108 kinds of herbs and plant bulbs
~ Soil from holy sites througout Thailand
After the completion on the making of this batch, Luangpor Khoon blessed them wholeheartedly and making wish with good intent for those who came forward to help on the rebuilding of Wat Ban Rai.
The amulets were released to the public on 29 Sept B.E. 2529.
The total numbers created were as follow:
~ Phim Jumbo with gold or silver takrud = 56 pieces
~ Phim Jumbo with twin silver & copper takruds = 9 pieces
~ Phim Jumbo with 3 takrud (gold, silver, copper) = 9 pieces
~ Phra Phim Pisek “special” with gold/silver/copper takrud, hair and sii prueng (comittee prints) = 9 pieces
~ Phim Yai (large mould) with copper takrud = 17 pieces
~ Phim Klang (mid mould) with copper takrud = 17 pieces
~ Phim Lek (small mould) “back printed yant” with silver/copper takrud = 300 pieces
~ Phim Lek (small mould) “back hand written yant” with silver takrud = 200 pieces
~ Phim Lek (small mould) with gold takrud = 9 pieces
~ Phim Jiu (tiny mould) with silver takrud = 70 pieces
~ Phra Sangachai with silver or copper takrud = 150 pieces
~ Phra Sangachai pour-mould type with “kring” = 150 pieces
That make it not more than 1000 pieces in total were created for such a good batch of amulets by one of the most respected guru of all time.
